A Collection Of Modern Life In Traditional Jewellery

This fall, we presented a new collection of traditional sets. The Gem & Bar collection was one of the jewellery collections we had exclusively during the golden jubilee of the Watch & Jewellery Middle East Show that was held in the first week of October this year.
The collection is unique in many ways. The design reflects our deep connection with heritage, affection for gold, and nature.
This lovely collection combines 21K gold jewellery with 24K small gold bars. The bars are used to embellish and decorate the traditional gold chokers, earrings, rings, bracelets, and pendants the way a gemstone will embellish a jewellery piece.
What is unique as well, is the different gemstones used in the collection. Each stone has a different colour and look adding amazing touch to the beautiful design of jewellery sets.
So, what are these aesthetic gemstones used in this collection?
Let’s dig deeper!
Agate
We can say that agate is the king of all gems used in this collection. It is represented in almost most of the jewellery sets in this collection, and in different colours.
Agate stones come from the quartz family and they come in different colours such as red, white, green, blue, etc…
This colour stone was first discovered in the Achates River in Sicily, south of Italy by the Greek philosopher Theophrastus. It held great importance in ancient times and was used to ward off evil spirits, cure scorpion stings and snakebites, and guarantee victory in war times.
Until now, it is considered a glamorous stone to embellish a precious jewellery piece such as a ring or a pendant.
Ruby
One of the four precious gemstones, and hardest. It weighs 9 on the Mohs scale and the only gemstone that is harder than a ruby is diamonds.
This rare gemstone is a variety of mineral corundum and its name is derived from the Latin word “ruber” which means a red hue.
Rubies can come in variants of red colour variations such as orange, pink and violet.
This rare gemstone has been used in jewellery for centuries, and it symbolizes love and commitment. Hence, it is popular in wedding rings.
Not to forget that Ruby stones are the birthstone for July and the 15th & 40th wedding anniversary.
Dragon’s eye
Dragon’s eye or dragon stone is part of the Jasper family, and it has similar features to Jasper. It is known as the warrior stone because it is believed to reveal inner strength. It is believed that it can heal many diseases, and it gives passion and energy.
Turquoise
This bluish-greenish colour gemstone can be found in certain regions such as Iran, Egypt, South USA, North West China and Mexico.
The Iranian Turquoise sometimes called Persian Blue is popular for its amazing blue colour and it is the most prized turquoise stone.
What attracts you to this stone, is its amazing colour comes in different hues ranging from blue to green with some brownish spots that act as marks that distinguish real turquoise stone from fake. Since these can not be found in fake turquoise stones.
This stone is believed to heal and cure many sicknesses and is used a lot in alternative medicine even though there is no scientific proof of this.
Emerald
Emerald is one of the four precious gemstones with a hardness of 7.5 to 8. This green colour stone has been rooted in jewellery since ancient times.
It is one of the favourite gemstones of Egyptian queen Cleopatra as she used it with almost everything.
It is the birthstone of May and the zodiac Taurus.
Onyx stone
Onyx is a type of chalcedony which is a part of quartz. It is usually black with white bands, but sometimes it can come in different colours.
This stone is recognized as the protector stone. It is believed that it wards off the evil eye, eases disagreements, and helps in moving forward after a toxic relationship or a failure among many other things.
