Gold Jewellery Casting

Gold Jewellery Casting

Have you ever entered any of the gold shops and been fascinated by the gold models and wondered how the jewellery was manufactured and crafted with such precision and extreme care?

Have you imagined the process that goes from a mere stone to a magnificently elaborated 21K bracelet?

So how are these exquisite gold earrings, bracelets, and necklaces made?

Whether it's 21K/18K/14K, each piece goes through multiple steps to reach its final shape. First, it's sent to a group of designers with the highest levels of professionalism where the design is finalized. Then, the design is sent to be cast, and this is where the hard work lies, where it's moulded and shaped to create the most precious piece of art.

What is the gold casting process, and how does it contribute to making gold jewellery?

Gold casting involves many steps, including jewellery designing, wax moulding, investment, burnout, melting, and eventually shaping into the final custom-made product.

Initially, the wax mould is prepared according to the original design; it has a cavity that looks like the final design.

There are three types of moulds: silicon moulds, rubber moulds, and metal moulds.

Then there is the investment phase, where the mould is created by pouring the hot wax into the mould, where it cools down and hardens to become an investment material.

The gold is melted in a high-degree furnace anywhere between 1617 and 2006 degrees Fahrenheit. The furnace's degree is decided according to the type of gold. Also, during this stage, the gold is merged with other metals like silver, copper, and palladium to define its hardness and colour.

Here comes the casting process, where the gold is poured directly into the mould using multiple techniques to ensure the best quality results. These techniques include wax casting, centrifugal, pressure, and vacuum casting.

Eventually, the gold metal cools and is immediately removed from the investment material to uncover the desired piece of jewellery, such as a gold ring.

So basically, gold casting is a process where a wax mould is created, and then the molten gold is poured into it in order to produce custom-made golden jewellery. It is more like a process of creation, transforming a piece of metal into a piece of art, that's why well-known, luxurious and famous gold shops such as Al Romaizan seek professionalism during the gold casting process in order to deliver the client an inimitable yet the most precious piece of jewellery.
